10 years ago I moved to Vancouver with the dream of living in a downtown apartment and write for a famous magazine. What I didn’t realize was that I didn’t speak the language, I had zero connections and that Vancouver market was one of the most expensive in the world. I got a job as …

This week it’s been full of training, PR, beautiful people, family, and friends! My heart is FULL of gratitude for all the advice and love that I’ve received even from people that I still don’t know offline!
I’ve been following the @vancitybusinessbabes account on IG for more than a year now. I remembered being seating on my bed, breastfeeding Matias, scrolling down to their feed every day trying to figure out how to get the time to attend one of their events.
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, Business Babes Collective is a global platform of businesswomen from around the world based on collaboration and community. They have these training that started not too long-ago call “action takers” that seems to be very powerful for small business.
I knew back when I was on maternity leave, that I had to be patient, that a time would come for me to be able to spend more time on my business, and I feel that right now is finally starting to happen. I’ve been doing baby steps since last year, but I think it’s time to start moving like a toddler now.. ok, maybe not that fast lol!
I was invited last week to “women in action” and it was beyond what I expected! The view from False Creek Yacht Club, the delicious wine, the amazing appetizers, but my favorite part was their community! Everyone was very friendly, and the speakers were so inspiring that the first thing I did when I came home was to write down everything that I learned.
If you are a small business and are looking to get more exposure, I truly recommend these events! If you go to their website ( click here ) they have their calendar there!
A couple of days ago I received an invitation from Theatre under stars, a non-profit, volunteer-driven society to attend their “Cinderella” performance.
They have an amazingly talented cast, that brings a smile to everyone! We were lucky to have their VIP experience, where we got the treat with cupcakes, drinks and goody bags! but what I enjoy the most was the performance of this classic fairytale. They had the perfect music, great effects, and they were well prepared for everything that could happen ( it was raining but that didn’t stop us to enjoy the show, as they had ponchos for everyone! )
I was truly enjoying every second of it before the kids started to get tired, so I missed the end! Can’t wait to go back and finish it because really they got me!!
They will be playing from July 4 to August 18, the shows usually start at 8pm! Grab your blanket and join us! Click here for more information.
