Summer Camp For Kids in South Surrey

Love First Learning Inc. offers 4, 6, and 8 week Guided Wellness Education Sessions throughout the year to children and their families. Each session provides opportunities for natural curiosity, child-led exploration, and an abundance of risky-play through a Biblical lens. Children will develop independence, resilience and confidence. Children will learn to collaborate, create and work with each other. Children will find how they fit and the role they play within their environment.

They are now open for summer camps!

Equine – Guided Wellness

Being with horses allows children to be sensitive, attentive and loving. Horses connect us to the softness and power of the Holy Spirit. Children will learn to discover what it means to trust, understand and invite others into their sacred space.

Colossians 3:12 Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Children will have the opportunity to register for this program at Small Blessings Retreat & Animal Ministry. The July & August Sessions is offered Mondays & Wednesdays in a 3-hour time block, 9am – 12pm OR 1pm – 4pm. The September Session is offered Mondays, Wednesdays, and/or Fridays in a 3-hour time block, 9am-12pm.

Children will work directly with an Equine Guided Wellness Trainer for inspiring lessons with miniature horses and miniature donkeys. They will muck the stables, feed the chickens and work together on daily challenges. Honouring relationships with nature, animals, and others will be our intention.

Forest – Guided Wellness

Spending time in the forest helps children feel at ease. The forest grounds and connects children to something bigger than themselves. They can experience the majesty of Creator God, in its entirety.

Ephesians 3: 17-19 And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Children will have the opportunity to register for one or more forest programs in South Surrey. The July & August Sessions are offered weekly, in 3-hour time-blocks, Thursday 9am – 12pm (caregivers and children aged 2-5) 1pm – 4pm (children aged 4-12) and Fridays 9am – 12pm & 1pm-4pm (children aged 4-12) at various locations. The September Session is offered Monday (1pm – 4pm), Wednesday (1pm – 4pm) Thursday 9am – 12pm (caregivers and children aged 2-5) 1pm – 4pm (children aged 4-12) and Fridays 9am – 12pm & 1pm-4pm (children aged 4-12) at various locations.

Children will be immersed in the sounds, sights, smells, and textures of Creation! They will develop core strength, hand-grip, and balance. Increasing their stamina through natural, playful movements.

Nature – Guided Wellness

Sky gazing and looking towards the horizon helps children feel peaceful. It reduces their stress, brings a sense of calm and allows them an opportunity to feel God’s love wash over them.

Psalm 57: 10-11  Your kindness and love are as vast as the heavens. Your faithfulness is higher than the skies. Yes, be exalted, O God, above the heavens. May your glory shine throughout the earth.

Children will have the opportunity to register for a weekly, 3-hour time block, 9am – 12pm (caregivers and children aged 2 – 5) OR 1pm – 4pm (children aged 4 – 12) at Blackie Spit Park and experience the healing powers of salt-air for themselves.

Children will feel the serenity and vastness of the Pacific Ocean! They will develop spatial-awareness, keen observation and an appreciation of all creatures; great and small. They will discover the importance of the health of our oceans and our role in stewardship.

Family – Guided Wellness

Spending time in with loved ones in nature is known to strengthen that bond significantly. It allows everyone to unplug, clear their mind, and become absorbed in something bigger than themselves.

Psalm 145:4-7 One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts. They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty— and I will meditate on your wonderful works. They tell of the power of your awesome works— and I will proclaim your great deeds. They celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness.

Caregivers and their children (aged 2 – 5) will have the opportunity to register for a weekly, 3-hour time block, 9am – 12pm on Tuesdays at Blackie Spit Park and Thursdays at local Forest Park. Love First Learning Educators will lead the session with full participation from caregivers and children.

Caregivers will be responsible for the safety of all of their children.

Young children can practice walking on uneven surfaces (balance), roll down a grassy hill (vestibular input), and have uninterrupted time to explore (freedom). Caregivers can awaken their child-like wonder & awe as they participate with the children in a fun and joyful manner.
